I've seen this phenomenon, but I just don't get it. Why would anyone pretend to be a witness? An astronaut or a cowboy, that's understandable. But a witness, not so much.

"pretending to be a jw",will be the subject for this thread... we have aready met people on this board,who have no problem pretending to be jehovah`s witness`s and support the wbt$......but..have no interest in following the wbt$..or.. doing any of the hard work it takes to be a jehovah`s witness... i have met people like this,in real life... have you ever met people in "real life" that:.

I'm happy to answer your questions about my religion.
We don't have a physical space we call our church; most of my rituals are conducted in my home, or outdoors. On occasion, when I feel like it, I attend the local Unitarian Universalist church, which is non-denominational and welcoming to all.
I have friendships and fellowships with all sorts of people, regardless of their faith, and I sometimes get together with other Pagans to celebrate our holidays.
And yeah, I can just call myself a Pagan; why would I not be able to do so?

We're lucky; because of where we live, we rarely ever get solicitors. All the local dubs know our house, and have stopped coming by. It's peaceful.

Do You Consider yourself an Atheist / Agnostic / or Christian? Reasons ?
by flipper inafter having been raised in the jehovah's witnesses for 44 years ( getting out 6 years ago ) i have now come to peace with my view of what i personally feel about the existence of god , or no god, or whatever is flying around up there in outer space.
i am basically agnostic for sure / perhaps leaning atheist and i've come to that decision based on the years and years of unfulfilled false promises of being in a mind control cult ( jehovah's witnesses ) claiming to represent an alleged " god " or " jehovah " saying there would be a paradise, and armageddon to destroy 99% of the earths population.
also- i enjoy helping others without thought of being rewarded for it.

I truly was afraid of getting attacked by demons. For some reason, I only ever half believed the other stuff I was taught, but demons were a very real fear I had. I still have moments where the idea of it freaks me out. My fella rented The Exorcist, and I was terrified through the whole movie. He needed to remind me that these things aren't real. The rational part of me understands this, but the irrational part of me tends to take over during late-night horror movies.

I will be collecting signatures to keep same-sex marriage legal in Maine. I kinda got roped into doing this, but what the hell, it's a good cause. Hopefully, I'll also get to see some fireworks that evening, but it doesn't look like the weather will cooperate.
